Our Board

Paula has over 30 years experience working in Mental Health, Social Care, and Business Management in Greater Manchester. Paula has always had ties in the Health and Social Care sector, whether paid, running her own Consultancy business; PKays Health and Social Care Ltd, or working in a voluntarily capacity. She is equipped with a wealth of experience working in the Black community as a Specialist Cultural Appropriate Mental Heath Nurse.

 

With a degree in Nursing Studies and a Master’s in Business Management and Finance, Paula's experience in Mental Health and Social Care is vast, with career roles such as; Inpatient Mental Health Ward Manager, Ward Sister, Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) Discharge Coordinator, and Clozapine Nurse Specialist.

Paula is an extraordinarily creative individual who loves solving issues and enjoys helping others to succeed with a gentle nudge. Paula has just completed her 3 year post as an elected Public Governor at Manchester Foundation Trust NHS. Paula also volunteers as a Health Practitioner and Life Coach, whilst also managing one of the largest Black Women Support Networks in Greater Manchester.  As a keen advocate and activist who stands for equality for all, Paula is currently a member of the Women's Equality Party GM and has stood as a candidate for Reddish North and Heaton's North in Stockport.
